Location and access
It is not quite so easy to find us however, once you have arrived, you will realize that all the efforts were worthwhile. Hvar can only be reached by sea, the best way is to board a ferry from Split to Stari Grad (you can access the timetable on Jadrolinija), and then by car to Jelsa and continuing on a narrow curvy road via Pitve and through a tunnel to Zavala, which should take you about 20 minutes of leisurely driving.
Once you have successfully mastered all the hindrances and you see the sign “ZAVALA” (at the entrance to the village) in front of you, you should expect a mild left turn and then after about 30 yards a very sharp right bend. One needs a bit of practice to make it in one go. Here you will also see the sign for ‘Skalinada‘. After this, you just follow the road among the houses on the left side and down a fairly steep road until a Y-junction. The road to your right leads to us and to your left to ‘Skalinada’. At the bottom of the slope, the road ends with a ‘T’.
If you hadn’t been forced to be wary of the potholes, you would have seen a house called “Nautilus-Bay” by the road. Yet again, you turn right and drive to the end of the road.
The last 100 yards of the road is not paved. If you came to a slightly isolated house on a gentle slope among pine trees, facing the sea, which is around 40 yards away, then you are at the right place. You find us! The car park is located behind the house.
